本名Jack Allsopp(ジャック オルソップ)は1978年ロンドン北部に生まれる。イギリスのステージミュージシャン、Just Juck(ジャスト ジャック)の名で親しまれている。
ジャックは、幼少の頃、ブレークダンス、エレクトロ ヒップホップ、ハウス等のダンス音楽による減量を行っていた。8歳の時にはブレークダンスの熱狂的ファンだった彼は、そのダンス音楽好きが助けてか、15歳の時にはＤＪを始める。家具デザインの学位を修めた後、ジャックは、音楽製作学校に入学し、演奏取り込みの潜在能力を高めることとなった。昼間は仕事に追わていたジャックだが、夜、音楽を極めることに努力した。
ジャックのデビューアルバム、「The Outer Maker」は2002年に発売された。現代の生活や人間関係、社会の抑圧について歌った曲が収録されている。元々 独立系レーベルのＲＧＲ レコードから発売されたものだが、叙情的だという批判もあったが、すばらしいといった評価も得ている。2002年にジャックの曲は大ブレークしたものの、暫く低迷するが、2007年のＢＢＣ2のLater with Jools Holland やChannel 4 の The Friday Night Projectの番組でシングル曲の「Starz In Their Eyes」のＴＶデビューで再び脚光を浴びる。この曲は、イギリスのヒットチャート第２位を獲得した。「Starz In Their Eyes」はＤ＆Ｇの2008年ファッションショーでも使用された。
